Pilates is a low-impact, but highly effective training program, which activates the deep stabilising muscles and supports the balance of stability and flexibility. These key elements make it an ideal training method throughout all stages of pregnancy. Working with the Pilates equipment can be especially useful, due to its high adaptability.
We aim to strengthen the pelvic floor and work on maintaining core stability, as well as mobilising the spine and re-balancing posture. Our aim is to retain free-flowing and pain free movement patterns in all three trimesters of pregnancy.
The introduction of breath control and the gentle strengthening of the body are designed to facilitate relaxation during pregnancy and to prepare for an active and natural labour.
